Behind the farm

Hi, I’m Megan

Farming is a family affair on our farm. My dad, my sister’s family, and our little family all work together to keep the homestead going. We’re currently raising approximately 150 head of cattle, 26 sheep, 26 goats, lots of chickens, guineas, ducks, geese, a couple of black swans, pigs, and a few horses and donkeys.

I grew up helping pull baby lambs who were turned around in their mama’s bellies because my hands were smaller than my grandpa’s and dad’s so they could easily fit. I also wasn’t afraid to get muddy or stomp around cow patties. Most days, I was riding around the farm with my dad on a tractor or ATV helping with all the farming duties. As a result, this way of living taught me responsibility, so much about life and even death, and gave me character. I’m thankful to be rooted on this cherished plot of land, raising up the next generation of farmers and teaching them all the wisdom and skills of their ancestors. Follow along as I share those skills and wisdom here too.

I’m so glad you’re here!
